From Ustaz’s Desk is a testament to Ustaz’s active involvement and contributions to the community; aptly reflecting his struggles and efforts in his lifetime. His dedication and love for the ummah as well as to knowledge dissemination is evident through the plethora of papers, publications and slide decks he has crafted over the years. Since the 1990s, his intellectual contributions have spanned across various topics and issues, leaving an indelible mark in our society. Alongside his teachers and peers back in the day, they have scrupulously addressed and championed key ummah issues apart from propagating da’wah matters. However for most parts, he humbly preferred to remain inconspicuous while working tirelessly in the background. Only those who knew the true extent of his involvement could testify how significant his contributions were.
In addition to such writings and leading his own classes, Ustaz was a sought-after speaker, frequently invited to share his insights at various varsities and organizations, locally and overseas. Yet ever since he suffered a stroke that affected his speech and caused him paralysis on his left side, he reclused from the public sphere to focus on recovery. During his recovery phase, one of his senior students introduced him to blogsites, and he realized that he had to adapt to his condition. He saw it as an opportunity to continue his da’wah efforts through the aid of modern technology. Despite the challenges posed by his health, he valiantly composed his materials using only his right hand, often typing them with only a finger. He created multiple blogsites, each serving a different topic and purpose.
As his health slowly improved, he reignited his passion for teaching and began meticulously crafting slide decks for his return to the teaching scene. These visual aids not only facilitated his communication but also ensured that his audience could comprehend his words, allowing his teachings to continue unhindered. This portrayal of his determination and intellectual fervor adds an inspiring layer to his legacy, reflecting his unwavering commitment to sharing knowledge with the world.
